Catoosa College & Career Academy currently offers a variety of courses within eight Pathways, described below. For details about the courses, please refer to the Course Catalog.

Criminal Justice & Emergency Management
These Pathways are designed for students who want to serve the community and who are interested in careers in the criminal justice system, including law enforcement, corrections, and the court system.
Nursing & Therapeutic Services
Healthcare is the largest and fastest-growing industry in the United States. In this Pathway, students prepare for a career that promotes health, wellness, diagnosing illnesses, and treating injuries or diseases.
Architecture & Construction
These industries are among the largest in the country. Students in this Pathway learn to design, plan, manage, and build structures to help people enjoy where they live, work, and play.
Welding
The Welding Pathway teaches students to fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools.
Machine Tool Technology
The Machine Tool Technology Pathway is a study of the process of using machine tools to manufacture useful products and parts.
Logistics & Supply Chain Management
With 80% of the nation’s freight traveling through Chattanooga, demand is high for these careers. Students in this Pathway learn about careers and businesses involved in the planning, management, and movement of people, materials, and products by road, air, rail, and water.
Information Technology & Cybersecurity
The IT Pathway leads to careers available in every sector of the economy. Students learn to design, develop, and manage hardware, software, multimedia, and systems integration services.
Industrial Technology/ Robotics/Mechatronics
Mechatronics is a multidisciplinary field of science that integrates mechanical, electrical, and software engineering. Careers in this field include advanced manufacturing, automation, robotics, and aerospace.
Teaching as a Profession
Teachers are retiring in record numbers, making this an ideal career to pursue. This Pathway prepares students to study, apply, and practice the use of current technologies and learning strategies to create effective learning environments.
Professional Skills Development
Also known as "soft skills," every student in a career pathway participates in Professional Skills Development weekly. Students develop emotional intelligence skills to manage their own emotions and to connect with others on a deeper level to build stronger relationships, resolve conflicts, and communicate effectively.
Students Interested in attending the College and Career Academy? Here’s what you’ll do:
  • Look at the Career Pathways offered at the CCA and make sure at least one pathway lines up with your interests/aptitudes (Refer to your YouScience results in Infinite Campus).
  • Are you more interested in taking general/academic dual enrollment classes at the Career Academy? Talk with your School Counselor about academic and career options at your home school and at CCA.
  • Complete a pre-registration form for career pathways and/or academic courses offered at CCA.
  • You will receive an email within a week stating if you qualify for dual enrollment based on your GPA and/or PSAT/ACT/SAT scores.
  • Mrs. Hunt will be at your school on scheduled days throughout the school year and will set a time to meet with you to discuss your chosen pathway and to complete required applications for courses.
  • Your School Counselor and Mrs. Hunt will work together to make sure your schedule works. If there are any issues, you will be contacted before the upcoming semester.
